Lesson Plans

My lesson plans reflect a process-oriented, inclusive approach to PreK–8 visual arts education. Each plan balances clear skill-building with open-ended exploration, inviting students to engage their own stories, cultures, and ideas while developing technical confidence. I design lessons with multiple entry points so that learners of varied abilities, language backgrounds, and developmental stages can succeed. Mindfulness, visualization, and reflective practices are woven in to support both creative risk-taking and emotional regulation. Assessment focuses on growth, process, and student voice through observation, portfolios, and simple artist statements rather than product alone. The sample lessons that follow illustrate how these principles take shape in the studio classroom.
